Julia Nell Rains, 89, of Sidney, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at 11:20 p.m. surrounded by her husband Wesley Crumrine and her family and friends.
She was born Sept. 3, 1921, to the late Dempsey and Minda (Duncan) Steeley of Williamsburg, Ky.
She is survived by children, Loretta Frasure, of Sidney, Berry Rains Jr. (Karen), of Anna, Pat Barlow (Les), of West Chester, Mary Welch, of West Carrollton, Becky Arbogast (Doug), of Sidney; step-children, Deanna (Glen) Best, of Greenville, Gary Crumrine, of Taylor, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Pat Noles, of Springboro; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by husband, Little Berry Rains (was married for 45 years); a son, Richard Noles, of Springboro; and stepson, Larry Crumrine.
She touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. Heaven received an angel, but she will be missed by everyone. Our hope is to rejoice with her in heaven someday.
Julia had home parties for different companies and traveled through out the United States and overseas. She worked for 35 years for Consolidated Metco, retiring Aug. 8, 1986. She would cook a meal for strangers and everyone was welcome at her home. Going to church and reading her Bible was her greatest joy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Full Gospel Community Church with the Rev. Charles Jarrett officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Davis Division, Williamsburg, Ky.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wilson Hospice, 1081 Fairington Drive, Sidney, OH 45365, in memory of Julia N. Rains.
