Wilhelmine "Willie" Pearl Holmes, 73, of Kahoka, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at her home. She was born March 24, 1924, in Lewis County, Missouri, the daughter of Roy G and Cecile Miller Bick. She married Harold E Holmes on July 7, 1940, in Kahoka. Survivors include her husband, Harold, of Kahoka; two sons, Larry E Holmes and wife Nancie, and Donald G Holmes, of Kahoka; one daughter, Mrs Michael (Joyce A) Meinhardt, also of Kahoka; six grandchildren, Michael Bevans and wife Kari Jo; John Bevans and wife Melissa; Teresa Glorea and husband Doug; Andrew Meinhardt; Timothy Harold Holmes and Lisa Ann Smith, all of Kahoka; a foster grandson, Curtis Mack and wife Marlena of Kahoka; three great-grandchildren, Melissa Bevans, Justin Florea and Chase Bevans; one sister, Maxine Riney of Kahoka; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eston and Neta Holmes of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Leroy and Blanche Holmes of Keokuk Iowa; as well as nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Elaine Holmes, in infancy; and a granddaughter, Terri Beth Holmes. A former employee of Shellor-Glode in Keokuk, of Kahoka Floral and Fashions, and DeRosear Flowers, Mrs Holmes later worked at Dadant and Sons, Inc. in Kahoka, until she retired due to ill health three years ago. She was a talented floral designer and enjoyed crocheting and being with her family. Services were held Friday, August 1, 1997, at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Reverend Kenneth Beckmann officiating. Mrs Joan Ball was organist.
