He was born in Coles County. He married Anna Whitaker in 1909.
He leaves his wife; sons, Carl of Decatur; Elmer of Paxton; Thomas of Latham; daughter, Mrs. Esther Klepzig of St. Charles, MO.; brother, Lon of Effingham; sister, Mrs. Nora Harrison of Beming, NM; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lockart and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery.
