Miss Winnell Leatherwood passed away at Cleburne, Texas. She lived in Cleburne, Texas until 1916 when her family moved to Jack County, Texas to their ranch, two miles north of Jermyn, Texas which was her home.

Miss Winnell Leatherwood was a very talented artist, both in oil and china painting. She was a member of the Jermyn Methodist Church where she was a faithful worker. She has been head of the Young People's department, held offices in her church and was Spiritual Life Leader. Miss Leatherwood was a life member of the W.S.C.S.

Services were held at Dillon Chapel in Cleburne, Texas officiated by Rev. Oran Sigler, pastor of Cleburne Presbyterian Church, who was chaplain in the Cleburne hospital during her illness. He was assisted by Rev. W.L. Hicks, pastor of Jermyn Methodist Church.


Survived by one brother - Den Leatherwood; one sister - Mrs. Jewel Sanders; one nephew - Billy G Sanders.
