He first married Melissa Reese and they had four children: Pearl (Stone) Benefield, Burrell Stone, Earl Stone, and Nora Melissa (Stone) Clowers. On 16 Oct 1900 he married Mattie Katharine Ferron in Cass, AR and they were the parents of 10 children: Donna Bell Stone (infant), James Wesley Stone, Sr., Jeff Stone, Elsie Corene (Stone) Farmer, Mamie Irene (Stone) Reeves Chalmers, Essie Beatrice (Stone) Talbert, Willliam Howard Stone, Edith Mae (Stone) Smith Cammarata, Denzil Stone, and Retha Stone. Mr. Stone was predeceased by his parents, his wife Melissa and wife Mattie, and children: Donna Belle Stone, Denzil Stone, and Retha Stone. Pence Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
