Andrew William Strickland was born March 10, 1871, a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Lavinia Holdman Strickland

He died at his home in Desloge on Monday following a lingering illness. He was 66 years, 9 months and 3 days of age.

Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, the former Marsolette Thomure, and six children: Mrs. Lucille Alexander and Mrs. Lillie Simpson of St. Louis; Mrs. Sadie Rawson of DeSoto; David "Jerry" of St. Louis; Fred of Desloge and Amiel of Flat River.

He also leaves to mourn his passing several grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Anna Abernathy of Herculaneum, and three brothers, Clem of Frankclay and Thomas and Frank of Pevely, Mo.

The deceased was one of Desloge's most highly respected citizens having lived there for more than 30 years.

He was an employee of the Desloge Lead Co., until twelve years ago when he was injured in an accident.

He was a loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by his loved ones.

Funeral services were held at the Desloge Catholic Church at nine o'clock Wednesday morning. The Rev. Fr. Cunningham officiated.

Burial was in the St. Francois Memorial Park under the direction of C.Z. Boyer.
