H. S. "Sam" Brandenburg, 61, of rural Milmine died Nov 8, 1988 in his home. Funeral services were held in Brintlinger's Cerro Gordo Funeral Home with burial in Bement Cemetery.

He was born May 15, 1927 in Decatur. He was a s/o Roy Edward and Mary Alice Kerns Brandenburg. He married Naomi J. Speckman in 1954 in Milmine Christian Church. She survives along with two sons: Sam W. of Milmine; and Andrew of Schaumburg; a daughter, Katherine Vance, St Louis MO; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; a brother, Roger of Cerro Gordo; and two sisters: Shirley Polley, Decatur; and Diane Kay Brandenburg, Sullivan. His parents and a brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Brandenburg was a member of Milmine Christian Church; a graduate of University of Illinois; a World War II Army veteran and farmed many years in the Milmine area.

Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo Community Ambulance Service or an organization of the donor's choice.
