Julia Mae (Hall) Willman, 88, of Garber was called home to the Lord on October 14, 2010, from the Edgewood Convalescent Home following a brief illness.
Julia was born May 2, 1922, in Lamont, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Sherman) Hall. She graduated from the Lamont High School with honors in normal training and was a teacher at rural country schools. Julia gained her faith at the Lamont Baptist Church.
Julia was united in marriage to Arthur P. Willman on June 23, 1943, at Long Beach, California. After Arthur completed his army tenure, they made their home in Garber. They were together for 37 years. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Arthur P. Jr. (Tex) and Al Joe.
Julia was an active member of St. John Church in Garber for many years while the boys were growing up. She was a clerk at the Garber Post Office under Ruth Matt Meyer. After Ruth retired, Julia was appointed Postmaster. She enjoyed being of service to her Garber neighbors and friends for 18 ½ years before retiring.
Julia spent a lifetime spreading joy and love to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, quilting, cross stitch, crocheting, and sewing. She loved tending her flowers and always had a garden. She also loved to do her word puzzles. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Many a Sunday was spent eating Julia's cooking, topped with a piece of one of her great pies.
Survivors include one son, Arthur P. (Debbie)Willman, Jr. of Spring Hill, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Dixie Willman of Manchester; five grandchildren, Chad (Chasity) Willman, Spring Hill, Florida, Matthew (Nikki) Willman, Dubuque, Dawn (Richard) Scilex, Hudson, Florida, Lucas Willman (fiance' Karla Ingles), Garber, and Jayson (Jessica) Willman, Wesley Chapel, Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Trent, and Haley Jo of Dubuque, Hunter of Hudson, Florida, and Candace, Charlie and Cody of Spring Hill, Florida; a sister, Thelma Grimm of Edgewood; a sister-in-law, Annie Hall of Long Beach, California; and many nieces and nephews.
