Lyda B. Kendall, 85, passed away in her home with her family around her on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.

She was born in Terre Haute, on Aug. 31, 1925, to Dayton Hutton and Mamie Shaw Hutton.

In 1943, Lyda married Robert G. Kendall, who preceded her in death in September 1982.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Eastern Motor Express, Lovelace Trucking, and Vigo Wade Abstract.

She is survived by a daughter, Sue Olgus (Henry) and son, Robert Kendall (Judy), both of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Amy Meister (Brian), Debra Neice, and Teresa Wills (John), all of Terre Haute, and Kristina Gehlhausen (Lance) of Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Payton, Sydney and Hunter Brown, Keegan and Colton Gehlhausen, Ashley, Rachel, and Henry Paul Neice; great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Jacob Levi Ewing; and everyone at Southern Care Hospice and Wanda West.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St., from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.
