Betty was the daughter of John Harvey and Opal Sarah (Wyant) Shaver.
After her mother's death when she was 3, she and her brothers lived with their father and stepmother for a time, and were living with their maternal grandparents by 1940.
She married Paul Blomquist on August 5, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. They raised two daughters and one son, and were married for 51 years until his death in 1996. She worked at the post office in Glen Ellyn for 24 years, and at Sears for 9 years.
She was survived by her children, 6 grandchildren, and two brothers. Preceding her in death were her husband and brothers Richard and Robert.
