OCEANSIDE - John J. Valla, 83, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999.
Born Dec. 13, 1915, in Louisville, Ky., he lived in Oceanside for 17 years.
Retired, he was a mechanist.
Mr. Valla was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Valla, in October 1997.
He is survived by his daughters, Carolee M. Ungerbiller of Fallbrook, Catherine J. Hollarn of Lemon Grove, and Virginia S. Clendenin of Spring Valley; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 16, at Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery. Interment follows.
