Mary Ann Moore, 73, resident of Atchison, KS passed away October 15, 2010.
Mary Ann was born in Agency, Missouri the daughter of David Waller Grimes and Nellie Quinn Grimes. She attended country elementary schools and then elementary schools in St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating from Central High School, St. Joseph, Missouri.
She and Donald L. "Don" Moore were united in marriage on August 11, 1962 at Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mary Ann was employed with Continental Baking Company and later for Westab and then Mead Company, all of St. Joseph, Missouri. After moving to Atchison, Kansas she was employed with Atchison Insurance Company and Centennial Corporation of Atchison and then McDonald's Restaurant as a cook and biscuit lady for 15 years retiring in 2002. Mary Ann enjoyed cooking, gardening, tending her flowers and looking after her pets.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Don Moore, Atchison, KS, a son and his wife, Mike & Kim Moore, St. Joseph, MO and two grandchildren, Payton Moore and Aaron Moore.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Kyle Moore, a sister, Elva Oaks and a brother, George L. Grimes.
Services to be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Gary DeWitt officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Humane Society or Ashland United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
