Axi was the son of George Stevens & Margaret King.

He married (1) Mary J. Nye, 14 Sep 1872, Highland Co., OH and (2) Euphemia Catherine Lafferty, 28 Dec 1893, Highland Co., OH.

Axi and Mary's children included: Mabel (Young, Shaffer), Orren George; Ernest; and Stanley.

Axi and Euphemia had three sons: Glenn L.; Walter W.; & Howard.

Note that some records show Axi's name as one word, Aximander (spelled in a variety of ways). Other records show him as Axi Mander, Axi M. or A. M. On the 1930 census, he is "Mander."

Note also that there is a tombstone at the near-by Ruble Cemetery with Aximander's name. There is no date of death inscribed on the tombstone. The names of Axi's siblings are also on this same tombstone at Ruble Cemetery. Some of the siblings are buried at Ruble Cemetery, others are not. Axi's death certificate clearly shows that he was buried at Barker Cemetery.
