Elizabeth Cross Fader died, 3 May 1929, at the age of 78y 2m 28d. She was the first of 12 children to migrate to Michigan. This is her obit as it appeared in the Tuscola County Advertizer;
Mrs. Elizabeth Fader died at the home of her son Phillip Fader of Colling, Michigan, Sunday evening. She was the daughter of James and Charlotte Cross and was born in Matilda,Ontario, on 30 Jan 1851. She was married to Ezra Fader on 2 October at Ogdensburg, New York. Four sons and two daughters were born to the union. Two children and the father preceeded Mrs. Fader in death. Norah the oldest in 1917 at the age of 45, Franklin, the youngest in 1920, and Mr. Fader, 26 September 1915.
The first 9 years of married like was spent on the farm in Hainesville, Ontario, from which place they came to Columbia Township and purchased an uncleared farm. From time to time they bought additional parcels until 300 acres are now in the possession of the family. She was devoted to her family a strong Christian character. She was one of a family of 12.
