Marjorie Noggle Lovinggood, 87, of Marietta died Monday, August 12, 2013. Funeral Services will be combined with her son, Jerry Lovinggood's, service at 1pm Thursday at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Dr. Don Mason and Rev. Jerrell Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Plains Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Lovinggood was the owner and operator of Lovinggood Grocery Store on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta. At the store, she sold gasoline to all East Cobb including Cobb Fire Department, Police Department and City of Marietta Vehicles. She cashed paychecks for the employees of Tip Top Poultry. At one time, management of Tip Top Poultry told Mrs. Lovinggood that she cashed more checks for their employees than First National Bank of Cobb County. The Grocery Store was the safe house and community center for East Cobb. Mrs. Lovinggood saw to it that no one went hungry. She owned many grocery stores and convenience stores in the North East Cobb and the Cherokee County area before retiring in the mid 70's. After retirement, she went into the Real Estate business. She was married for 11 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lovinggood. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lovinggood. Survivors include Sons, Kenneth (Joann) Lovinggood and Michael Lovinggood both of Marietta; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
