Clarence E. Duhammel, 78, of Zanesville, Indiana died
today at Wells Community Hospital. Born in Brown County,
March 7, 1894, he was a son of James and Martha Walker
Duhammel. His marriage to Thela Fisher, who survives, took
place June 10, 1914 in Fort Wayne.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry of Route 1, Yoder and
Dwight of Napoleon, Ohio; eight daughters, Mrs. Dallas
(Maxine) Ake of Fort Wayne, Route 4, Mrs. Dean (Genevieve)
Beck of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Biberstine of
Ossian, Mrs. Edwin (Willodean) Hilsmier of Ossian, Mrs.
Robert (Katherine) Ball of Green Castle, Pennsylvania, Mrs.
Jay (Laura) Bear of Markle, Mrs. Ted (Rosemary) Vough of
Huntington and Mrs. J. M. (Bonnie) Garner of Murfreesboro,
Arkansas; two brothers, Estel Duhamell of Glendale,
California and Arthur Duhamell of Newport Beach, California;
two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Florence) Wygant of Roanoke and Mrs.
Eva Bailey of Fort Wayne; 30 grandchildren and 23 great-
grandchildren also survive.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at the Zanesville United
Methodist Church; burial in Hoverstock Cemetery at
Zanesville with Elzey Funeral Home of Ossian in charge.
