One of four children, she was born Dec. 13, 1893, in Redpath Township, Traverse County, the daughter of Nels and Augusta (Berlindh) Araskog.
In 1901, the family moved to a farm near Kensington. When Ruth was 12, her mother died, leaving Ruth with the responsibility of taking care of the family. She attended school in Kensington. In 1915, the family moved to a farm in Buse Township.
She and George Abramson were married in 1927 in Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. After their marriage, they moved to South St. Paul. In 1973, they moved to Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Her husband died Jan. 8,1975. She had recently moved to Pelican Valley Nursing Home.
She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in St. Paul and Augustana Church in Fergus Falls.
She is survived by a brother, Randolph Araskog of Fergus Falls.
There will be no visitation at Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls, which is in charge of arrangements. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
