"Uncle" Abraham Wolfe died at the home of his son, Mr. G. B. Wolfe, on Parchment, at 1 p.m. yesterday and was buried at 3 p.m. today in the Wolfe cemetery. From a sketch by Dr. T.I.C. Parsons that was published in these columns on the 25th of March last, it is learned that Mr. Wolfe was 93 on the 23rd of March; was born in Lewis county; his father moved to Mason county-now Jackson county-on what is now known as the Wash Rader farm near Mt. Olive church in August 1821, who together with his wife and eight children, Jacob Wolfe, Francis King and wife, making a total of thirteen persons, carrying all they had on five horses including all their household goods and provisions to supply them on their journey which took four days, during which time they were never in a house. On November 26, 1835, he was married to Miss Emily Bosewell, who died April 28, 1868, leaving five sons and four daughters, seven of whom yet survive, namely, N.S. Wolfe, G.B. Wolfe, Adam Wolfe, Jr., John Wolfe, Mrs. Levi Moore, Mrs. Isom Rhodes and Mrs. Chapman; one daughter, Mrs. G.P. Morrison and C.M. Wolfe, a son, died within the last few years; his second wife was Miss Jemina Kessel who died in 1872; he is the father of nine children, 80 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren; that he was an upright and respected citizen and had for his friends all who knew him, and was a man of great physical endurance, full of energy and led an active and industrious life.
