LOUIS ADAMS, aged 66, died suddenly at his home in Selmer, Tennessee. Mr. Adams, born in Purdy, Tennessee, moved to Selmer early in life, and had made his home here ever since. He was a banker in Selmer for twenty-eight years and after retiring from that work in 1925, he carried on an extensive insurance business. He was a Presbyterian and was superintendent of the Selmer Presbyterian Sunday School for thirty-nine years.
Mr. Adams was active in all civic affairs of Selmer and McNairy County, where he lived. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Adams, two sons, Captain Louis Adams with the U. S. Navy somewhere in the South Pacific, and Robert W. Adams of Gallatin, Tennessee, and one daughter, Mrs. Malcolm McCord of Selmer, Tennessee. ~~ THE JACKSON SUN, Jackson, TN, May 28, 1944, page 26
