Julian Edmund "Bud" Lipscomb, III, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 13, 2010. He died suddenly of a heart attack.

Bud was born October 16, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of Julian Edmund Lipscomb, Jr. and Mary Ann Phillips Lipscomb.

He grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from St. Martin High School in New Orleans. He was a South Carolina State Police Officer who worked at the College of Charleston and was the former Vice President of First Sun EAP. Bud was also a former U.S. Navy Lieutenant and served with the Navy SEAL teams. He received a B.S. Degree from Texas Christian University with a double major in History and Psychology. Bud was a charter member of the Downtown Charleston Rotary Club. He enjoyed honing his marksmanship skills, watching New Orleans Saints football, driving his BMW, and spending time with his fiancée and his dog, Venture.
