The Belle Banner - December 4, 1925
W. A. Q. Boyce was born at Mint Hill, Osage County, Missouri, May 13th, 1860, age 65 years, 6 months and 11 days. He had moved from his farm home on Little Tavern, near Myerstown, to Kansas City about eighteen months before his death. His death was directly due to Aortie Insufficency, following a brief attack of pneumonia.

He was married to Amanda E. Rowden, of Tavern, Missouri, to which union were born ten children, 3 sons having preceded him to the spirit world, namely: Benton, Earl and Rector, the later died in the United States Military Service during the world war. Besides his beloved companion, Mr. Boyce is survived by seven children, Mrs. Grace Wilson, Loguna Beach, California, Alfred O. Boyce, St. Paul, Minnisota, Buel A., Orlando, Archie, and Miss Estelle Boyce of Kansas City, Mrs. Mary Rollins, Dixon, also by twelve grandchildren (he has one grandchild dead) and one sister, Mrs. Mary Hollycross of Chamois, Missouri, and four brothers, S. L. and W. K. Boyce, of Jefferson City, J. S. Boyce of Versailles and Lem Boyce of Kansas City.

Mr. Boyce became a member of the Church of Christ at 23 years of age, at Smyrna, Maries County, where he continued to hold membership until he moved to Kansas City. He served Smyrna as an observer for many years, was a diligent church worker and a close Bible student. Though often misunderstood, as all principal people are, he was never completely discouraged. He was a member of the 26th and Spruce Streets Church while a resident in Kansas City.
He issued a newspaper at Aud, ...County, at one time, he also was a photographer for some years. His public service in connection with school, political and social things, and religious activities are well known to a wide acquaintance with his singular life. For a number of years he was a physical sufferer, yet without self complaint.

The mortal remains of Mr. Boyce were placed in Wheeler Church Cemetery, November 25, following fitted funeral services conducted by Evangelist Wm. Freedman Jones of Hancock, Missouri, in presence of a large crowd of relatives, brethren and friends of the deceased. Wm. Freedman Jones (From Contributor, Ellen)
