He died at 6:35 pm Tuesday in Henderson Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1924, to Elmer and Maude Wylie, he was a member of the Blossom Hill United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School superintendent. He was retired from the maintenance department of the Henderson Independent School District, where he worked for 34 years. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the VFW Post 8535, and the Rusk County Rodeo Association.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today 6 to 7:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Wylie, Henderson; sisters, Gladys Berry, Rozelle Cain, Opal Mitchell and Patsy Reynolds, all of Henderson; and several nieces.
