Obituary:
Mrs. Elizabeth A. Clark, wife of John Clark, deceased, passed from earth to Heaven, on Friday evening, at 4 o'clock. She was born near Shippensburg, Cumberland County, PA, July 19, 1816, died suddenly on January 20, 1893, aged 76 years, 6 months and one day.
She was the oldest daughter of Thomas and Sarah M. Holt. Her parents moved from Shippensburg to Waterloo when she was quite young and that was her home until 1834.
She was married to John Clark, who preceded her to the grave in 1879. She had a family of eleven children, two of whom died in infancy. Five sons and four daughters still survive, namely, Thomas R., of Fort Wayne,Indiana; John I. of Orbisonia; W. E., of Holidaysburg; Alexander, of Burnt Cabins; H. P., of Port Royal; Mrs. R. Pollock, Mattawana, Mifflin County; Mrs. E. Duncan, of Waterford; Mrs. R.E. Dobbs, of McCoysville; Mrs. D.H. Taylor, of Port Royal.

She was a good faithful mother and a Christian woman and until the infirmities of age came upon her, she was seldom absent from the house of God, if it was possible for her to be there. She could truly say: I love thy church O'God, Her walls before the stand. She has been a member of the Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She tried to do her duty, and train up her children in the fear of the Lord. For some years past she had partially quit the cares of the worldly toil and devoted the greater portion of her time to reading, of which the Bible was her chief study. She died in the full hope of a blessed immortality in Jesus.
She was laid to rest in the cemetery near East Waterford, and the services were conducted by her past, Rev. R. M. Campbell.
