Thom H. Eide
1855-1936
Thom H. Eide, son of Holstein and Bertha Eide, was born in Sogn, Norway on January 6, 1855. There he was married to Ingeborg Underdahl. In 1881 they both came to America and settled on the Thom Eide farm in Armour Valley, where they lived until 1915, when they retired and moved to Osseo, Wisconsin.
In 1923 his wife passed away and in 1932 his son Bennie passed away. On July 13, 1936, after a lingering illness, he, too, passed peacefully away.
He leaves to mourn his death, his son's wife and children; also four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Ed Olson, Mrs. Martha Haug, Mrs. Anna Nelson, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. John Fotland, San Diego, California; Andrew Haugen, of Duluth, Minnesota; and Martin Sabe, of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and Henry and John deceased.
Funeral services were conducted at the home and at the Armour Valley church on July 16, by Rev. O.C. Aune, of Osseo.
Those attending the funeral from away were: Mr. & Mrs. Ed Olson and daughter Evelyn, of Eau Claire; Miss Hilda Eide, Arthur Eide, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Vold, Mr. and Mrs. Torger Stenson, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Otteson, all of Osseo.
