My GreatGrandmother, Susie, was born in 1864 in Scott County, Indiana to Jackson and Louisa Belle (Redman) Trulock. When she was a little girl, her parents moved the family to St. Augustine, Illinois and then they set out by covered wagon for Missouri, buying a farm near Union Star. Susie grew to womanhood there and taught school. She then married Charles Dexter Doughty and moved with him to his farm in Rooks County, Kansas. Susie and Charles had 7 children with my Grandmother, Daisy, being the youngest child. Susie moved into the home her and Charles had built in Stockton for their golden years. Susie died there in 1935. Susie was a hardworking pioneer wife and mother, and though we did not know her, we are very proud of her!!
