Ruth E. Long, 72, Dixon, died Tuesday at the K.S.B. Hospital in Dixon.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the First Church of the Open Bible in Dixon. Visitation will be from noon Wednesday at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Noble Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Long’s name to the First Church of the Open Bible.

Mrs. Long was born in Pleasantville, Ind., on Jan. 12, 1908 to Charles and Alberta (Wood) Bryant.

She married Earl Ray Long in Noble on Oct. 26, 1935. He died on Dec. 23, 1944.

She retired as a child care aid from the Dixon Developmental Center in 1974. She was a member of the National Association of Retired People.

She is survived by three sons, Benjamine C., Ray A., and Jerry L., all of Dixon; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (FayAnn) Duffy, Dixon; a brother, Russell Bryant, Frankfurt; 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, a sister, and two brothers.
