FRIDAY, JANUARY 1, 1904
Mr. A. McGuire, who was reported as seriously ill last week, died on the 24th at his home near Strickling, Burnet county, where he had lived for 28 years. He was a good man, and had a wide acquaintanceship throughout this section of Texas. Nine children are living, besides the wife to mourn his loss. He had recently bought a home in Lampasas, and on his deathbed, just before expiring, he remarked that he had bought an expensive home for his wife and daughter, and did not regret that, but that he was going to a better home, which was without price, and that it woudl endure forever. For many years he was a member of the Methodist church, and had the confidence, esteem and respect of all who knew him.
