She was born on July 4, 1929 in St. Michael the daughter of Mathew & Emma Magdalen Schmitz Barthel.
Harriet graduated from Buffalo High School in 1948.
She married Elwood "Woody" Carlson at The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo.
Harriet enjoyed bowling and pulling pull tabs with her sisters.
She was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was active in the Parish.
Survived by sisters and a brother: Rita Soltau of Monticello, Ronald (Rose) Barthel of Madison, South Dakota and Clare Elliott of Buffalo; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Elwood "Woody" Carlson, her parents, an infant sister and twin brother Harvey Barthel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harriet Carlson will be held on Friday, July 30th at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. Father David Hennen will be the Celebrant and interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 30th beginning at 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the church.
