George Wampler, an aged farmer who lived near Bruceville, died Tuesday evening after a long illness. The deceased was one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Knox county. He was born in Virginia March 12, 1806. Accompanied by his wife, he came to Knox county when a young man. His venerable wife survives him. They were one of the oldest couples in the county. Their
golden wedding was celebrated June 12, 1878. Their children living are: Mrs. Nancy Whitson, of Chicago, and five sons, Abraham, Marlin, Milton, William and Ephraim.
The funeral Thursday morning at Asbury Chapel was largely attended."
