Dorothy L. Bond Augustine, 86, of Media, a former United Airlines employee and world traveler, died Oct. 10 at Sterling Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Media.
Mrs. Augustine grew up in Eddystone, was a former resident of Chester Township and lived in Upper Chichester for more than 30 years before moving to Media in 2004. She attended the old Eddystone High School. Mrs. Augustine worked in the flight kitchen of United Airlines before her retirement in 1975. She was previously employed by the old Speare Brothers department store in Chester for many years.
Mrs. Augustine was a member of St. John Fisher Church in Upper Chichester for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Africa, Italy and Europe and also enjoyed vacationing with her family in Margate, N.J. Mrs. Augustine was the widow of Anthony Augustine who died in 2007 and the mother of Vincent Augustine who died in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Lola Bond and the sister of the late Richard Bond, Rose Woodstock and Ethel McCall.
Survivors: Daughter, Rose Augustine Beck; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Mass Friday, St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn section of Upper Chichester.
Visitation: 8:30-10 a.m. Friday, Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Bethel.
Burial: Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester.
