Robert W. Bibeau, of Arlington, died by accident on October 11, 2010. He was 80 years old. Born in Cambridge, he was a 1947 graduate of Rindge Tech High School. An Arlington resident for 57 years, he was also a summer resident of Wareham. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran of the Korean Conflict and had worked at IBM in Waltham for 35 years as a Field Manager. Past President of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin Alumni, he was a member of the Arlington K of C and an avid member of the IBM Bowling League. Beloved husband of 57 years of Joan F. (Laurendeau) Bibeau.

Robert's van was traveling northbound on RT 128 in the left lane, when it veered off the left side of the road, striking the guardrail and then hitting a bridge abutment. He was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he died. The passenger, Joan Bibeau, his wife, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is being investigated.
