Daughter of Shepherd William Lewis & Sarah Elizabeth Polk Lewis (buried in Ford's Creek Baptist Cemetery, Formerly Marion County, Mississippi now is in Pearl River County, Mississippi. Sarah's tombstone is inscribed that she was a member of Baptist Church for 58 years. Eliza Elzada Lewis, known as "Aunt Lizer" by nieces and nephews, married Thomas Jefferson Golemon 30 Apr 1886 in Marion County, Mississippi. Marriage license reads: T J Golemon and Eliza Lewis. Eliza has a joint monument with her spouse. Monument reads T Jefferson Golemon and Eliza L Golemon. Eliza and Thomas Jefferson Golemon had nine daughters and three sons. Eliza's siblings William Sidney "Bill" Lewis, John Harrison Lewis and Truie Angeline "Aunt Babe" Reyer are buried in Ford's Creek Baptist Cemetery near their parents. Her sister Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cowart is buried about 7 miles from her parents off Burge Reyer Road also in Pearl River County in a wooded area used as a hunting lease. In June 1899 Eliza and her sister Lizzie were baptized into the Mormon Church by missionaries to Pearl River County, Mississippi. Prior to their baptism, Lizzie and her husband "Abe" Cowart were charter members of the Ford's Creek Baptist Church. Eliza and Lizzie were two of four people who were the first people of Pearl River County, Mississippi to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Lizzie died in childbirth in May 1900 and her husband James Abraham "Abe" Cowart with seven of their eight children traveled to Utah within the next 2-5 years. Eliza lived in Marion County at the time, and was married to Thomas Jefferson Golemon. This Thomas Jefferson Golemon (1860-1927) was Lydia's (Bill's wife) first cousin. Shepherd William Lewis (her father) disowned Eliza and Lizzie for joining the Mormon Church.
