Obituary, from The Daily News, Huntingdon, PA on May 30th, 1991:

Delbert C. Baker of Six Mile Run died at 6:20 AM today Thursday, May 30, 1991 in the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Alloona. He had been in failing health for the past several months. Born Dec. 3rd, 1922 in Six Mile Run, he was a son of the late Clair C. and Della (Graffious) Baker.

He was married to the former Jane Kay Leighty in 1954 in West Virginia. Surviving are his wife at their home, a stepdaughter Patty Horton of Troy Ohio, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters; Edna Chamberlain of Saxton RD, Lillian Snyder, Emma Kersse, Colleen Keagy, and Maxine Husick all of Six Mile Run, and Grace Watkins of Baltimore, MD. Preceding him in death were 10 brothers and sisters and a step daughter.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Six Mile Run Church of God. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, having served with the US Army and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

In 1978, he retired from the General Motors plant in Baltimore, MD where he had been employed for 23 years. Following his retirement, he and his wife lived in Marathon, FL for 13 years, prior to returning to Six Mile Run.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 1st, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel in Saxton, with the Rev. Jesse Musser officiating. Interment, with full graveside military honors accorded, will be in the Reformed Cemetery in Yellow Creek. Friends may call at the funeral chapel Friday from 7-9 PM.

The family has requested that memorial contributions in remembrance of Mr. Baker be made to the American Cancer Society.
