Mrs. Mary Daughney, wife of Michael Daughney, of this place, died suddenly Saturday evening, Feb. 9 [1907], at their home. She had been ailing for a day of two and her husband left her lying on the bed feeling very comfortable she told him, he was gone but a few minutes when he went in to speak to her finding her dead. He started to the nearest neighbor, James Hayes, for help when he met his son, Will Daughney, in the door, he having just come home on the late train from Bennett where he has been at work. The funeral services will be held at the Catholic Church in West Liberty Wednesday. Mrs. Daughney having come to this country when a girl. She was married her to Michael Daughney, in this place, and they have since made their home here. The devoted husband and three children survive, the latter being Mrs. Nan Fitzpatrick, of the northwestern part of Iowa; Mrs. Maggie Fry and Will of this place. Mrs. Daughney was a quiet home loving woman, a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and a staunch friend. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.
