Elwood Raymond Graf, age 61, passed away October 9, 2010, while hunting in the Beaver Mountains. He was born December 20, 1948, in St. George, Utah, to Raymond C. and Eleanor Deane Syphus Graf.

Elwood was born and raised in Santa Clara. He graduated from Dixie High School, class of 1967. During high school he played football for Coach Walt Brooks, whom he dearly loved, and was also a member of the Dixie High School wrestling team. Elwood married Pamela Berneice Newcomb February 15, 1969, in Santa Clara, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He was drafted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he returned home and worked at Bradshaw Auto Parts and later Bradshaw Ford in the Parts Dept. Elwood was introduced to the landscaping business through Rose Garden Landscaping working for Myrle Bostwick. In 1981, he started Elwood Graf Landscaping. He was currently working for the Washington County School District as well as running the landscaping business. Most recently he opened the Orange Peel with his son, Derek.

Elwood loved the Lord. He was a faithful, diligent member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including; the bishopric, High Council, Elders Quorum Presidency, and High Priest Group Leader. He was a faithful home teacher.

Elwood enjoyed hunting, gardening and landscaping, the mountains, dirt roads, camping and fishing. He was a man of great integrity. Elwood was a genuine, humble, honest man, who loved to laugh. He was very thoughtful and caring. Elwood was a hard worker and had a firm handshake, to say the least. He loved to visit with family and friends and had all the time in the world for others.

Elwood dearly loved his wife, daughters, sons and grandchildren. He would do anything for them. He was proud of his grandkids and wanted them to experience all things that were old fashioned fun, including feeding chickens, planting pumpkins, sugarcane and cotton. His family was the most important aspect of his life. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela of Santa Clara, UT; two daughters, Tiffany (Gragory) Newby and Brooke (Cameron) Ence both of Santa Clara, UT; a son, Derek Elwood (Annette) Graf of St. George, UT; grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, Grace, Drew and Mia; father, Raymond C. Graf of Santa Clara, UT; siblings, Linda (Ron) Mason of SLC, UT, Kerry (DeAnne) Graf of Australia, Jane (Fred) Morice of Oklahoma City, OK, and Laraine (Kevin) Stott of Emmett, ID.
