Margaret J. Whorton, 85, of London, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The daughter of Lee and Ella (Martin) Vinson, she was born October 19, 1920 in London. She was a lifelong member of the Martin Chapel Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Elvis E. Whorton; her parents; four brothers, Buford, J.L., and Reece Bennett, and Bill Vinson; and four sisters, Pauline Zvonar, Mary Shinn, Iva Lou Minor, and Virginia Quinn.
She is survived by one daughter, Ella Sue Smith and husband Don of London; three grandchildren, Keith Smith of Bentonville, Brian Smith of Little Rock, and Sandra Vitols and husband Johnny of London; five great grandchildren, Cherith Wilkey of Land O'Lakes, FL, Jordan Smith of Bentonville, Sara Brooks of Dardanelle, Keithlee Smith of Land O'Lakes, FL, and Emily Brooks of London; five step great grandchildren, Robby Black of Pennsylvania, Andrew Black of Springdale, Jonathan Vitols of Dover, Joey Vitols of Dover, and Jeff Vitols of London; eleven great-great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Elsie Whorton of London and Lois Bennett of Houston, TX.
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Humphrey Chapel with Reverend Claude Jackson and Reverend Arlin Elmore officiating. Burial will be at East Point Cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
