There appears to be some confusion. Gershom Lee b. circa 1735 in New Jersey, died about 1821 in Gallatin, Kentucky. His son, Gershom, Jr., b. 1781, perhaps in Kentucky, died after the 1850 census. Here is a link to the page where Elizabeth is recorded as his executor in 1821:
