He was called Lloyd. He was the son of Rev. Edwin A. Russell, the Baptist minister in Ord, Nebraska in the early 1890s. Lloyd and Stella were married by his father in her parent's home in Mira Valley 8 miles south of Ord, NE. It was a double wedding. The other couple were her sister Maud and James G. Hastings. Russells lived in Greeley, NE. She died about a year after their marriage. Soon after Stella's death Lloyd may have moved to Sheridan, WY. His parents lived south of Ord, NE in or just north of Mira Valley. Lloyd later moved south somewhere and remarried. Until then there had been little contact with Stella's family, but afterwards Stella's family lost all contact with Lloyd. It is thought that this is the same Gilbert L. Russell named in the 1870 census for Elkhart, Indiana, in which he is 1 year old; and the same Gilbert L. Russell named in the 1880 census for White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Michigan; and in the 1930 census for Wichita Falls, Texas where he was listed as having been born in 1869 in Indiana.
