Mrs. Mary Jones Coan, widow of the late John O. Coan, died at her home in Ridgeway, this county, Tuesday, aged 87 years. Mrs. Coan had been in ill health since last November. The funeral took place from the home Wednesday, with burial in the Coan family cemetery near the residence. She was the widow of the late John O. Coan, who was one of the leading citizens of Ridgeway. Her surviving children are Messrs. G. W. and John O. Coan of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Bousman, Mrs. Leonard Sheffield and Miss Birdie Coan of Ridgeway and Mrs. J. J. Cox of St. Paul, Va.
