John T. Archey, one of the best known farmers in Liberty Township, died at his home one and one-half miles north of Waldron at seven o'clock this morning.

He was afflicted with stomach trouble and his death has not been unexpected during a period of several weeks. Deceased was sixty-seven years of age and had lived in this county for forty years.

He was an active member of the M. E. Church at Waldron.

Mr. Archey was married to Miss Nancy Carter in 1867 and to this union was born five children, three of whom survive, Mrs. Henry Kehrt, and Miss Emma and Frank Arcey of Liberty Township.

Mr. Archey is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Vess, and seven brothers, C.W. and Joseph D. Archey, of Shelby Township; James P., of Rush County; Robert, of Hancock County; Blaine, of Clinton County; Thomas of Tippecanoe County, and Andrew, of Boone County.

Out of a family of nine children Mr. Archey's is the first death to occur.

The funeral will be held at the late home Thursday afternoon at three o'clock, the Rev. Guthrie of the M. E. church, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Middletown Cemetery.
