Lammi, Richard J.
Age 83, passed away peacefully at Kathy Hospice in West Bend in the company of his family on Monday, October 4, 2010.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1927, in Mt. Iron, MN, to Leo and Grace (Koski) Lammi.
He served in the Merchant Marines and was drafted into the Army during the Korean War.
In 1954 he married Janice Lundeen in Virginia, MN and moved to Milwaukee, WI where he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering graduating in the first mechanical engineering class in 1957.
In 1964, he founded Richard J. Lammi Surveying and later Landmark Surveying Co., Milwaukee which he owned and operated, with his wife, until retirement in 1997. His wife, Janice, preceded him in death in 2007.
He is survived his children, Joan (Mark) Thomas of Menomonie, WI and David (Lynn) Lammi of Hartland, WI, four grandchildren, Ryan (Maureen) Thomas Chad (Megan) Thomas, and Kristin Lammi all of Twin Cities area, Steven (Katie) Lammi, currently serving in Afghanistan, and 2 great-grandsons, Liam and Connor Thomas, as well as other relatives and friends.
He enjoyed boating, bowling, working in his yard, playing cribbage, and Johnny Carson's monologue.
He was a 55 year member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Milwaukee.
Memorial Service to be held on Friday, October 29, at 11:00 AM, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church 4021 N. 90th St., Milwuakee.
Visitation one hour before service.
