March 1986 EDWARDS, UEL LEE Dexter, (Missouri)- Retired merchant UEL LEE EDWARDS, 79, formerly of Dexter, died Saturday at Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston (Missouri). He was born June 9, 1906, in Frisco, (Missouri). In 1936, he was married to EVELYN TREECE, who died in April 1940. He was married to LETHA BENNETT in 1943 in Bloomfield (Missouri). She survives. Mr. EDWARDS was of the Baptist faith. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, FRED L. EDWARDS of Benton; two stepsons, LEON NICKLESS of Alton, Ill., and ROBERT NICKLESS of Perryville; one sister, THELMA JEAN AKRIDGE of Catron; one stepdaughter, BETTY WHITNEY of Kansas City; one brother, HERBERT EDWARDS of Sturgeon; one sister, EDNA TREECE of Parma; three grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter, with the Rev. DALE HUFF of Benton officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery near Essex. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
