John was the son of William "Bill" Lacy Harrison (1881-1959) and Dora May Croft (1889-1983). He married Beulah Mae Southard (1918-2001) the daughter of William Southard (1891-1978) and Flossie Maize Hite (1893-1968). They had a son and daughter.
