Peter Pradon, age 83, of Odessa, a retired owner of Pradon Construction, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010, at his residence.

Pete was born November 6, 1926, in Scranton, PA, to the late Anthony and Anna Pradon. He served as a gunner in the U.S. Navy on the USS Harry E. Hubbard from 1944 to 1946, in WWII, where he received several medals and was honorably discharged. After the war, Pete moved to Crane, TX, where he met Alma June Collum and later married on March 26, 1948, in McCamey, TX.

Pete moved his family to Odessa where he started Pradon Construction in 1962. Pete was the father of three boys, Daniel, Donald, and Darryl Pradon, whom he loved very much. In his later years, Pete spent most of his time at the ranch in South Texas. The ranch brought him tranquility. He loved taking care of his cows, and going fishing and hunting. His favorite past-time was finding a good bargain and making sure everyone was well fed.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anna Pradon, his wife, Alma Pradon, his brothers, Michael, Matthew, John, Joseph, and Bill Pradon, and his sister, Mary.

Pete is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law; Daniel and Bobbi Pradon, Donald and Suzette Pradon, and Darryl and Carla Pradon. Other survivors include his brother, Steve Pradon of Reading, PA; sister, Helen Cocker of Dillsburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Corey Pradon and Todd Pradon of Odessa; Dena and Jacob Wells of Boerne, Mariah and Brian Miller of San Antonio, Barrett and Carrie Pradon, Denver and Derek Pradon, all of Odessa; three great-grandchildren, Austin Pradon, and Hannah and Emma Wells; and several special nieces and nephews especially Andrea Chorney.

The family will have visitation from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Corey Pradon, Todd Pradon, Barrett Pradon, Brian Miller, Denver Pradon and Derek Pradon.
