Miss Catherine Gelzenlichter, seventy-six, 312 Filbert St., died unexpectedly at St. Joseph's Hospital at 8:30 am on Saturday after a short illness. Cause of death was not immediately known and an autopsy is planned.
Born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Bartram and Sarah Meehan Gelzenlichter, she lived her entire life here.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary Apostleship of Prayer, and the Miraculous Medal Society. She had worked as an inspectress at Polan Katz Umbrella Factory until 15 years ago when she retired. She also worked 47 years at the city cotton mill as a cutter and inspector.
She was the last of her immediate family.
