James W. died while on a business trip, to Oklahoma, Bet. 07 Jul 1870 - Jun 1880, in either Okmulgee, or Muskogee County. Word was sent to the family that he was buried on the side of the road so that family would find him. Despite several attempts by his sons to find his grave and bring him home his body or places of burial has not been successfully found at this time.
