MARY ANN DOBBS PASSES AWAY
———
LIVED TO AGE OF ALMOST NINEY YEARS--INTERMENTS TODAY.
———
Mrs. Mary Ann Dobbs, aged 89 years, died this morning at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T J. Moreland a few miles west of McKinney. Had she lived Mrs. Dobbs would have reached the ripe old age ninety on October fourteenth of this year.
Mary Ann Dobbs was a native of Scott County, Virginia and came to Collin County twenty-six years ago. She was first married to Hudson Sandidge. To this union there were born three children, W. H. Sandidge of McKinney, J. M. Sandidge of Bradley County, Tenn., and Mrs. W. M. Felker of Felker, Tenn. A number of years after the death of Hudson Sandidge she was married to James Dobbs, about forty-two years ago. To this union were born the following children: Mrs. T. J. Moreland, who lives a few miles west of McKinney, Mrs. M. E. DeArmond of Norman, Oklahoma, Dr. S. J. Dobbs of Princeton.
She had been a member of the Methodist Church, South since her childhood and lived a consistent Christian life. She formerly lived with her son, Dr. Dobbs at Altoga, who now lives at Princeton and for some time lived with her daughter, Mrs. Moreland in McKinney, but who has been living west of McKinney.
Mrs. Dobbs was well known in semi-monthly Collin County and was loved by all who knew her well. She was a kind and loving mother and wife who never passed an opportunity to do good and may truthfully be said of her that this world has been better by her life and deeds.
The remains were laid to rest in the Altoga Cemetery this afternoon and the services were conducted by Rev. Cunningham.
