Betty Ann Ring, 77, of Oregon, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 8, 2010, at her home.
Betty Ann was born on Oct. 22, 1932, in Buda, the youngest child of Adrian and Mary Isabelle (Flannigan) Head. Betty Ann married Clifford James Ring on June 8, 1950, at St. Mary Church, Oregon. They were blessed with six daughters and were married for 57 years. Cliff passed away on April 2, 2008.
She worked at the Ben Franklin store and JL Allums for many years. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and crocheting. But, what she enjoyed the most, was the company of her family. She loved her family and was deeply loved by them. Hardly a day went by without a visit or a phone call from someone. The coffee pot was always on, and the candy jar was full. She was a big Chicago Cubs fan and never missed watching a game. Her cat, Pumpkin, always was nearby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff, and sisters, Margaret Mitchell, Ann Alethia Krapausky, and Louise Van Landschoot; and brothers, Winfred Head, Richard Head, Junior Head, and James Head.
She is survived by one brother, Francis Head of Portland, Ore.; daughters, Linda Sandifer (Monte) of Fairfax, Minn., Susan Javorik of Oregon, Jeanne Saathoff of Amboy, Shari Bartlett (Rick) of Franklin Grove, Lisa Merritt (Dan) of Chana, and Patti Schoon (Randy) of Polo; 14 grandchildren, Karah Meyer, Bethany Becker, Rachel Karl, Gina Holland, Richard Boyden, Amy Vesley, Nathan Saathoff, Joshua Saathoff, Jamie Reilly, Adrian Myers, Whitney Shearer, Jeremiah Pumfrey, Kayla Merritt, and Dylan Schoon; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She will be deeply missed by her family.
Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oregon, with Monsignor Thomas L. Dzielak officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
