GREENVILLE ADVOCATE - 24AUG1933 - MRS. WESLEY BRUNSON OF MULBERRY GROVE DIES EARLY TODAY - NATIVE OF GREENVILLE PASSES AWAY AT DAUGHTER'S HOME - BY TELEPHONE TO THE ADVOCATE - MULBERRY GROVE - THURSDAY
Mrs. Josephine A. Brunson, aged 71 years, wife of Wesley Brunson, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Deutsch at Vandalia at 3:40 p.m. today following an illness of 6 months from high blood pressure & complications. She had been at the Deutsch home for the past 2 months.
The body was brought to the Runells Funeral Parlors where it will lie in state until Friday morning when it will be taken to the Brunson home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Free Methodist church, the Rev. Thomas Dulaney officiating. Interment will be made at the Mulberry Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Brunson's maiden name was Josephine Anna Mayfield, the daughter of the late Samuel & Sarah Elizabeth (Jett) Mayfield & she was born in Greenville 02May1862, & was aged 71 years, 3 months & 22 days. She left Greenville when a child & went to Mulberry Grove & spent the greater part of her life in that vicinity. She was married 3 times, her first husband being John Ellsworth, who died about 30 years ago. Surviving this union are 4 children, Jack Ellsworth of north of Mulberry Grove; Mrs. Deutsch of Vandalia; Mrs. Sarah Pasley of northeast of Mulberry Grove; & Mrs. Abbie Evans of Mulberry Grove. Her second marriage was to Benjamin Riley, who died about 15 years ago. Twelve years ago she was married to Wesley Brunson who survives. Mrs. Brunson is the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Free Methodist church at Mulberry Grove. She was a kind & loving mother & had a host of friends who will mourn her passing.
