Clinton graduated from Friends University in 1903. He married Myrtle Varner in 1926 at Emporia, KS. He moved to Carrizozo, NM, in 1911 after his wife died and lived with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sipple. He and Ray engaged in mining. Clinton returned to Colorado in 1936 and farmed in the Clarksville area until he retired in 1959. He was a member of the Haxtun Methodist Church.
